Superintendent's Message

Welcome to the Oak Grove Union School District. We are the second oldest continuing district in California. We celebrated our 150th birthday in 2004. We enjoy a rich tradition of outstanding community support for our schools with excellent relationships with our parents. The district is comprised of a district kindergarten program and grades 1-8 in the Oak Grove Elementary/Willowside MIddle School Charter.

Parent organizations support our two schools with volunteer help and fundraisers to provide a complete program for our students. The Oak Grove PTO provides financial resources for a range of activities from classroom field trips, to supporting the arts, and reading incentive programs. The PTO prides itself on putting the "fun" in fundraisers by developing events that engage families in enjoyable activites. The Arts foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to the support the Fine Arts Program. Through thier efforts we are able to provide a wide range of art, music, band, and drama experiences for our students. Our Fine Arts Program is one of, if not the best, in Sonoma County.

We have a talented and dedicated group of teachers and support staff who work with our students. They are committed to every student's success. We believe that every child is gifted and our mission is to help them realize and develop their talents.

The district is governed by a five member board of trustees. This group of elected trustees meet once a month to guide the district. The board is noted for thier dedication to student success and the employees and facilities of the district.

As the Superintendent of the Oak Grove Union School District, I am dedicated to serving the parents, children, and community members of the district. Our outstanding reputation has been well earned and is one that I protect and strive to enhance every day.
